Resumen
Este artículo analiza la evolución de la confianza en las instituciones de la democracia en México durante las últimas tres décadas con base en datos del Latinobarómetro (1995-2024). El estudio adopta un enfoque cuantitativo, basado en cortes transversales repetidos, con alcance descriptivo, comparativo e inferencial. Los resultados muestran variaciones significativas entre instituciones y sexenios, así como la existencia de una dimensión común de confianza institucional. Además, pese al descenso de la confianza en la figura presidencial entre 2020 y 2024, el promedio agregado de confianza institucional aumentó durante el sexenio de López Obrador y alcanzó su nivel histórico más alto. Estos hallazgos sugieren que la confianza política en México ha seguido una trayectoria oscilante, más asociada a contextos presidenciales específicos que a una tendencia lineal sostenida.
